Description
| The SKF oil level regulator consists of two interconnected oil reservoirs. The lower reservoir is mounted directly on the lubricated mechanism and maintains the same oil level as the component being lubricated. It communicates with the surrounding air through a vent.
The upper reservoir is isolated from air and contains a reserve of oil. The two reservoirs are connected to each other via a connecting tube that extends from the upper reservoir and immerses in the oil in the lower reservoir. However, oil can only flow from the upper reservoir to the lower reservoir, maintaining a predetermined level in the lower reservoir by introducing air into the upper reservoir through the connecting tube. |
