The amount of grease dispensed per stroke depends on many factors. When manually greasing, it is very difficult to determine the required amount of grease to fill a bearing. However, the correct amount of grease is critical to achieving the intended bearing life. Under- or over-lubrication can lead to equipment failure. Although measuring the grease weight per stroke is standard practice, this procedure does not account for backpressure, ongoing wear on the grease gun, and other factors.
The SKF LAGM 1000E Grease Quantity Meter accurately measures grease delivery in volume or mass units for both metric (cm³ or g) and imperial/US (US oz, oz) units, without the need for conversion.
