Keeping oil clean

The reliability of oil-lubricated equipment depends largely on the cleanliness of the oil. Due to its liquid consistency, oil is easily contaminated from the moment it's delivered to the moment it's used in the equipment.

An oil storage and processing station ensures oil purification during tank filling, during oil delivery, and, perhaps most importantly, while the oil is in the tanks. Continuous filtration helps maintain the required oil purity level. Finally, to improve equipment reliability, it's necessary to additionally check the filling process and the condition of seals at the equipment level to prevent the introduction of new contaminants. After this stage, everything depends on oil condition monitoring. Devices such as an oil storage and processing station help maintain the required purity level for specific equipment.

Characteristics

  • The tanks are made of aluminum-coated steel and are available in 10 different colors and four capacity options: 113, 246, 454, and 908 liters (30, 65, 120, and 240 US gallons).
  • A scalable, configurable system for storing and dispensing various lubricants
  • Spill Protection - All systems come standard with built-in drip trays to meet SPCC, EPA, and general environmental requirements.
  • Fire protection – fire-resistant fire hoses that meet MSHA CFR30 standards are included as standard. Fusible-element shutoff valves and automatic shutoff valves are optionally available for the tanks.
  • Filtration: All systems come standard with micron filters for liquids and breather valves with a filter to remove moisture from the air. Filter micron rating should be selected based on the oil cleanliness class and viscosity requirements. For further recommendations, please contact SKF.

 

  • All systems are supplied as fully assembled units, ensuring easy transportation and quick installation on site.
  • Transport - All systems feature integrated spill-resistant transport pallets for easy forklift handling and hand pallet truck movement during transport and on-site handling.
  • Power supply - all systems can be equipped with 110/220V, 50/60Hz motors, depending on individual requirements
  • High Viscosity Lubricants - Each tank is equipped with a dedicated high viscosity lubricant pump with a flow rate of 3 US gpm to handle oils with viscosity grades up to ISO VG 680
