Cables and wires for stationary installation can be found in almost every type of electrical equipment, for example in buildings and infrastructure, or in many types of distribution devices or control cabinets.

The range includes both single-core cables with a single insulation with various properties and ratings, as well as multi-core cables. Since this type of cable and wire is used in stationary installations, special approval and CPR classification is often required, which is why almost all of our designs have CPR classification.

Cables for Operation in Extreme Temperatures

Crane, Conveyor, and Elevator Cables

Crane, conveyor, and elevator cables are used in cases related to loading and unloading, transportation work, and elevators. They are special solutions for transporting people or goods. Both applications require special cables, as they operate at high speeds and/or in constant movements, where the cables must additionally withstand their own weight.

In our assortment LIFTTEC®, designed for use in elevators, we mainly see flat PVC cables, partially with load-bearing elements. As the communications inside passenger elevators today represent a modern standard, we offer elevator cables that can transmit signals, including CAT.7 cables for high-speed data transmission.

For crane equipment, a wide range of various cables is necessary, which in many cases are wound on a drum or used in suspended systems, where either cables with improved mechanical properties are required due to the nature of winding, or a high speed of the trolley movement is needed when used in suspended systems. The speed of movement up to 180 m/min when winding on a drum and up to 240 m/min in suspended systems requires an adapted design capable of withstanding such high mechanical loads.

Rubber or polyurethane cables are used for both applications, with polyurethane versions, in particular, having significantly lower weight and smaller diameter, but at the same time being able to withstand higher mechanical loads, and are also halogen-free. Our cables REELTEC® PUR-HF и FESTOONTEC® PUR-HF are specifically designed to combine these characteristics and are available in screened and unscreened versions.

Unlike standard installation cables, crane and elevator cables are not subject to CPR classification.

This chapter includes servo drives, measuring and system cables for electric drives of drive technology for stationary installation, as well as highly flexible cables for use in continuously (highly) mobile equipment, such as towable chains or robotics.

KAWEFLEX® Servo 2X… EMC double-shielded cables for stationary installation and occasional movement as power, control, and connection cables for drive systems with frequency converters. The insulation of the conductors made from cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) provides the same reliability as the standard version of polyethylene (PE), but due to the choice of such insulation, it can operate at a higher conductor temperature (2X: maximum conductor temperature 90°C compared to 2Y: 70°C for the standard version of PE).

Starting from a cross-section of 10 mm², they are available in an optimized version where the grounding wire is distributed among the main conductors, significantly reducing the diameter and weight of the cable.

A series of KAWEFLEX® 5 is added for flexible use in towable chains as cables for servo drives, feedback, encoders, resolvers, speed sensors. Signal and system cables for EMC compatible connection. These cables comply with Siemens standards (MC 500, MC800PLUS), Bosch Rexroth, SEW Eurodrive, Lenze, and other compatible systems. Our KINEMATICS® 3D series additionally withstands a large number of cycles under twisting in robotic systems.

Control and Data Transmission Cables – High Flexibility – For Use in Towed Chains and Robotic Systems

Flexible control and data transmission cables are additional versions of our standard control and electronic cables, but designed for extreme harsh operating conditions, such as in drag chain systems or robotics, where the best mechanical properties are required.

Like the standard range, they are available in various voltage classes and, depending on the application, in different versions related to material selection, as well as national and international standards.

Special designs allow our cables to meet specific requirements in drag chain systems, as well as in robotic systems with continuous movement cycles or a high number of bending cycles. BUS, LAN, coaxial, and video cables are used for signal transmission and LAN communication, such as PROFIBUS, CAN BUS, or other relevant protocols. Coaxial and video cables are also used for transmitting high-frequency signals.

They are used in stationary installations for network infrastructure, as well as flexible cables for connecting various devices across all types of industrial equipment, such as in drawing systems or lifts, and meet various data transmission speed standards from Cat.5 to Cat.7A.

Depending on the application area and environmental requirements, the cables comply with various standards, such as UL/CSA, and are partially classified according to CPR regulations.

Special attention is given to the Industrial Ethernet range, which includes cables that meet the requirements of organizations PROFINET и SPE, as well as cables for other various Industrial Ethernet equipment.
