Airless lubrication systems use electrically driven piston pumps to deliver oil through spray nozzles to each link in the chain. The central unit consists of a pump(s), a reservoir, and a controller. Each nozzle is connected to the central unit via metal pipes.

The system starts and stops based on a time interval or the number of links. A chain sensor (or step sensor) is connected to the controller, which detects each link and activates the piston pump.
