    Piston sensors can be ordered separately, i.e., without an adapter, O-ring, or cable. A cable with an M12x1 connector is also supplied separately. Piston sensors can be supplied complete with a corresponding distributor adapter and O-ring. Furthermore, universal piston sensors for SSV, SSVL, SSVD, SSVDL, and VS\u2026-NP series metering devices are available complete with an O-ring, adapter, and cable of varying lengths and connector options.<\/p>\n

      SKF offers three types of piston position sensors: universal, bipolar and inductive.<\/p>\n

      Universal<\/strong>\u00a0And\u00a0bipolar<\/strong>\u00a0Piston sensors are position sensors that are screwed into metering devices along with a corresponding high-pressure-resistant adapter. The sensors detect piston position through the adapter without direct contact with the piston. Sensor adjustment occurs automatically after a few piston strokes. The universal piston sensor automatically detects the pinout of the connected cable. The sensor is available in two- or three-wire versions (with cable break protection). The bipolar piston sensor is available in a two-wire version only. The signal is sent to pins 1 or 4. The sensor is suitable for installation on mobile vehicles, including agricultural and construction equipment.<\/p>\n

      Inductive<\/strong>\u00a0The piston sensor can be connected directly to the metering device without an adapter. This type of sensor is more resistant to magnetic fields, so it operates more reliably in environments with electromagnetic interference. These sensors are suitable for installation on so-called "valve islands." A strong external magnetic field interferes with reliable piston position detection, leading to detection failures and insufficient lubrication. However, inductive sensors are not susceptible to this problem. The sensor is available in a 3-wire design.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
